Decibel Anthro Wrestling is a virtual professional wrestling promotion in Second Life,
the metaverse cloth upon which all other 'verses are woven from.
Taking place in the time of 2K23, DAW is a furry wrestling promotion unlike any other.
The Universe of DAW
DAW occurs in a time divergent from your own in the far off future of 2K23.
It is a planet fresh out of a 20 year recession that began 23 years prior.
A planet saved, damned, enriched and emboldened by a gift from above: Hidakium.
Hidakium. The Miracle of the Stars.
Falling to Earth in the early 1980s with the majority landing in the Hidaka Mountains of Japan,
its arrival brought about the incredible evolution of this RetroFuture present.
The result? Progression, wild, rampant, and reckless. Leaps and bounds in what seems
like the blink of an eye. Moore's law? Effectively immortal.
But, Hidakium's recent Earthen deposits have begun to run dry.
In order to seek more, several nations began to look to the stars and make preparations.
It is the waning days of Earth's grasp on her children.
Soon, in the effort to continue evolution, the shackles will be broken.
The exceptionally rapid pace of technological iteration meant style mostly fell by the wayside in this period.
Products were sold on their capabilities and speed, with form overwhelmingly following function until
approximately 2K01-02 when the Y2K Recession (later known as "The Lost Decades") began to take hold
and economic changes meant new products were expected to remain viable for longer.
Terminals remained the standard for significantly more time in this world;
even in the modern era of desktops and skeuomorphic design, terminals still have a
major userbase that is still a viable secondary market.
On the flip side, Hidakium proved to be an excellent element in the development of
holographic-based technology, robotics and artificial intelligence.
While most public elements are still relatively basic,
there are flashes of advancement if you look hard enough.
The World of DAW
DAW's action goes down in the DAW Melee Maul, a repurposed wing of the then-floundering Melon Mall.Stores flocked into the revitalized area to take advantage of the crowds, bringing a new
lease on life to a rarity in this day and age: a mall somehow not doing well.
Founded by a mysterious person(s) and publicly helmed by DAW Commissioner Charity Rourke,
the roster is an eclectic and ragtag mix of driven, passionate fighters, each with
their own reasons and motivations to engage in the battle.
Over time, every fighter develops, grows, suffers and thrives. Their paths are long and arduous,
and their journeys always have the chance to send them places they could never expect at the start.
Whatever drives them to the violence, one thing is certain: they will all strive to rise above.
